What is CIM?
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the world’s largest professional marketing body.
It provides membership, qualifications and training to marketing professionals around the world.
The accredited CIM qualifications available at the University of South Wales, are for those looking to acquire professional recognition whilst gaining both practical and strategic marketing skills and knowledge.
CIM qualifications attract students from a variety of sectors including private, public, tourism, retail, education and business to business (B2B).
CIM qualifications are core to professional development in the marketing field.
PLEASE NOTE: At all levels, attendance of at least 80% is expected from all delegates. Details of attendance will be shared with a work sponsor on the obtaining of the delegates’ consent to do so.
Entry point is assessed for each student and includes experience and qualifications to ensure that the study programmes is relevant to your background and study objectives.
CIM Certificate in Marketing
The UK standard Level 4 qualification, designed for junior marketers who want to gain knowledge in the basics of marketing. It provides an understanding of tactical considerations which will help students progress their careers in marketing.
CIM Professional Diploma
The highly regarded and valued Level 6 qualification designed for mid-level marketers looking to acquire professional recognition whilst gaining both practical and strategic marketing skills.
Both levels will be held on Treforest Campus, Pontypridd.

Course attendance is a blend of Monday evenings 5.30 to 8.30 (the only exception maybe if teaching schedule falls on a Bank Holiday Monday – you will be advised of this) and Saturday schools.
The University provides an online learning platform where course materials are available to students 24/7.

CIM assessments are conducted in line with CIM dates. Typically these will be during December, March and June /July.
Students are responsible for all payment and registrations with CIM cim.co.uk by set deadlines for each assessment point.
