What is ILM?

In today’s business world, individuals are often promoted to management positions because of their industry knowledge and technical experience. ILM qualifications provide practicing or potential managers the ideal foundation for their formal development in the role.

Mapped to National Occupational Standards (NOS), each qualification is split into 3 stages, which offer a progression route to the next stage. Combining innovative, flexible design with a strong focus on developing workplace performance, our range of qualifications are explicitly designed to meet the needs of different levels of managers and their organisations.

The Award, Certificate and Diploma are designed to encourage progression in leadership and management skills. The structure allows individuals to develop and build upon existing skills and knowledge.

By taking ILM qualifications, over half a million managers have improved their own performance and brought benefits to their employers. The programmes are delivered in such a way that it allows application of learning to the workplace, ensuring value for money.

On an open course basis, we deliver at Level 5 and Level 7. Our scheduled programme includes:

  • ILM Level 5 Award / Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • ILM Level 7 Award / Certificate / Diploma in Executive Management
  • ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring
  • ILM Level 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring

IN-COMPANY: As specific in-house programmes, the University of South Wales offers the full range of ILM qualifications in Leadership, Management and Coaching & Mentoring (from Level 2 to Level 7, Award to Diploma) to be designed as a bespoke solution to your company's needs. We are currently working with a broad range of clients on this basis, both in the public and private sector.

“USW Commercial Services have been very professional to work with. They listened to what we wanted and then worked with us to develop a Management Development Programme for our middle managers, which has been delivered in a manner which is enjoyable and encourages our managers to transfer the learning back to the workplace.”
