Academi Wales is the centre for excellence in leadership and management for public services in Wales. Established in September 2012, Academi Wales is part of the portfolio of the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government.
Working in Partnership with Academi Wales, USW Commercial Services has delivered effective level 7 coaching and mentoring programmes to Senior Executives in public sector organisations.
Bob Bon Buddies
Bon Bon Buddies Ltd is a licensed character confectionery company that works with some of the world’s leading entertainment and toy brands.
In 2016 / 2017, USW Commercial Services delivered an experiential leadership development programme for UK and international managers within the business. The programme focused on the innovative and creative culture of the organisation to enhance networking, managing change and bringing the company’s values to life.
Carmarthenshire County Council
Working in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council for a number of years, USW Commercial Services has delivered executive leadership development and coaching and mentoring programmes, accredited by ILM at level 3, 5 and 7.
Working with the Cardiff Council academy and the programme management office, USW Commercial Services has delivered bespoke project management courses since 2015. The courses are APM accredited and take the best practice the organisation has in project management and aligns it with behaviours required to ensure projects are successful.
Castleoak are specialist construction and development partners for care, retirement and assisted living.
The company are advanced in their project management journey as their portfolio includes successful multi-million pound construction developments. In 2016, USW Commercial Services developed a bespoke programme for them, looking at improving their communication in project teams and enhancing their good practice to start them on an Agile PM path.
Companies House incorporate and dissolve limited companies. They register company information and make it available to the public.
Working in partnership with Companies House since 2015, USW Commercial Services has delivered coaching interventions for senior leaders in the business. More recently, we have provided our short sharp masterclasses series to complement their in house management development programme.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue
Over the last decade, USW Commercial Services has delivered a number of interventions including leadership and management development at all levels, coaching and mentoring training to increase the organisations coaching capability, short courses such as action learning facilitation and stress awareness for managers.
USW Commercial Services began working with the team at Panasonic in early 2017 and have delivered a variety of interventions to different parts of the business under the umbrella of their internal leadership development programme. We have delivered non-accredited programmes in line with the needs and challenges of the organisation such as Effective Conversations, Gravitas and a 4-day ‘Authentic Leadership’ Programme.
Powys County Council
Since 2012, Powys County Council has been on a cultural change journey. Working in partnership with The Professional Development Centre, USW Commercial Services has delivered all of the organisation’s leadership and development, project management, coaching and mentoring and executive coaching training, most of which is accredited by ILM or AMP and APMG. We have also delivered non-accredited programmes in line with the organisations needs such as commissioning, effective conversations, advanced communications, resilience and political awareness. Everything delivered is in line with the organisations goals, with the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act at the heart.
Powys Teaching Health Board
Powys Teaching Health Board is responsible for meeting the health and wellbeing needs of the people of Powys.
Having integrated services with Powys County Council, Powys Teaching Health Board now access all the development interventions offered to Powys County Council. Previously we have worked with their senior team on team development and facilitated meetings with the Public Service Board.
Arriva Trains Wales
USW Commercial Service’s partnership with Arriva Trains Wales (ATW) has been developed since 2010. We designed bespoke project management training after developing a project management toolkit for them to utilise their skills and best practice. The programme is accredited by APM. In 2013 we started working with the Arriva group, which includes train operating companies such as Cross Country London Overground, ATW, Lorol, Chiltern and Metro, on a leadership development (LeaD) programme for talent development at a senior level. One of the success factors of LeaD is the number of participants that have gained director roles within the group as a result of the programme. In 2016, USW and The Professional Development Centre developed a leadership programme specifically for ATW in a Welsh context.
South Wales Fire and Rescue
Working with South Wales Fire and Rescue Services since 2008, we have delivered leadership and management training to their watch and crew managers. The provision has now expanded to other levels of leaders within the organisation.
The Royal Mint
The Royal Mint is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of coins and medals.
USW Commercial Services has delivered a number of project management interventions since 2010, including PRINCE2, APM and Agile PM.
Trivallis is one of Wales’ largest registered social landlords.
In 2013, USW Commercial Services delivered a Level 5 ILM Certificate in Leadership and Management to leaders and future leaders in the business in line with the requirements of their ‘Tailor Made’ initiative. Our relationship has grown from strength to strength delivering bespoke interventions around their requirements such as ‘Writing a Business Case’ ‘Leading Positively Through Change’ and ‘Business Writing’.
The University of South Wales has worked with the Welsh Government for years on a range of projects. As part of the National Procurement Service, we have delivered a range of courses from our portfolio such as Neuroscience, Gravitas and Data Analysis, to name but a few.
Wrexham County Borough Council
Following the success of the Powys County Council model of leadership development, Wrexham County Borough Council has started on a similar path. In 2016, USW Commercial Services delivered a pilot leadership programme for middle managers with a new programme starting in October 2017.
